Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata
Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata foundation encourages the creative expression of children.
Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata is a Swedish NGO working in Sweden and India. It encourages literary and artistic expressions of children on the topic of “Mother”. It holds workshops and contest. Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata used to encourage those around her with the words: हिम्मत सोडू नको Hold on to the courage! It takes courage to step out of ourselves and see the world from another human being’s perspective. It takes courage to feel and depict out own emotions and to feel the emotions of others. This courage is what Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata talked about. She asked “to have a courage”. It is this courage that brings forth our best. Foundation believes that: “literature and art is the highest form of courage”.
What lies at the heart of the work of the Foundation is to encourage young people to go through life with hope and courage. When we write about our mother, our source, we feel love, kindness and joy permeating the world around us. Such love transcends pain, suffering and gives us courage. Through writing, the young can discover who they are, their place in the world and what links them to others.
The Foundation holds a yearly literary contest and workshops in the memory of the late Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata. The winners will receive their awards on the lunar Punyathiti. The first year, award certificates, bicycles and cash were given to children aged 7 to 13 on 16th August 2018. The younger contestants submitted drawings and the older children handed in written texts, all on the topic of “Mother”. In 2019, the scope was widened. A larger number of young children from five schools, aged 6 to 13, were invited to make art. There was also an award for 'short stories' by young adults, aged 19 to 21. The Foundation invited contributions from more than 400 colleges covering the rural populations of western Vidharba, MS, India. The invited colleges are all affiliated with Amaravati University and are located in its five districts Amaravati, Akola, Yavatmal, Buldana and Washim, covering a population of 15+millions.

हिम्मत सोडू नको Hold on to the Courage
Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata always shared the following story.
Once upon a time, there was a king. He gave away all his wealth, his kingdom, his palace, his jewels, his horses, his cows, his elephants, his peacocks, tigers and deer and all the things he had acquired in his life. When he was about to leave his palace and was at the gate, the Goddess Laxmi appeared before him and said: "You have renounced everything but your courage."
To this, the king replied: "No, I will not renounce my courage."
Because the king did not renounce his courage, he, in a short time gained back all that he had given away. Therefore, Shree Sundara Laxmi Rajmata used to say: "Keep the courage. Hold on to the courage."
